Pickled Shrimp for a Snack Anytime
Pickled Shrimp for a Snack Anytime

Pickled shrimp is a great dish that can be served with any meal or whenever you need a quick pick-me-up. I have found a number of great recipes you might want to give a shot. Here is a paleo version covered by Charles Mayfield and his amazing wife Julie. Charles said that his mother makes an awesome pickled shrimp recipe. He thinks you will love it too. Just try to be careful before dinner. You probably won’t have room for your main course!
This recipe is shared in Charles and Julie’s book Paleo Comfort Foods. You should probably buy the book and make sure they get their royalties if you want all the steps. However, I will at least give you an overview of what you will need and what you can expect.
Here is what you will need on hand:
I am still trying to be more zen about eating shrimp. Not easy since I’ve avoided it all these years! However, this recipe does taste pretty amazing. You will find that a number of other people have similar feelings about it. The author at Eat Drink and Be Merry tried it as part of her sugar detox diet.
In addition to being careful eating your shrimp before dinner, there is one other thing Charles cautions. Make sure that you give your shrimp enough time to marinate. Ideally you will need at least 24 hours to get enough time for your food to really taste the way you want it.
There are a number of different paleo shrimp recipes we will be sharing in the coming months. Do any of you have any that you would like to share? Please let us know in the comments. If we like your recipe we would gladly share it with full permissions.
