Chocolate Chip Cookies – Primal Style!
Chocolate Chip Cookies – Primal Style!

Did you grow up eating chocolate chip cookies? I am sure you did. They are as American as apple pie! If you are like many people, giving them up would be a tough sacrifice. A lot of diets would tell you to give up chocolate chip cookies, but the paleo diet isn’t one of them. I read some awesome chocolate chip cookie recipes from some great paleo chefs that I just had to share.
You can make chocolate chip cookies without grains, dairy products or eggs. Here is what you will need to get:
Prep Work
You are going to need two separate bowls. Mix one and a half cups of almond flour with a quarter teaspoon or both baking soda and sea salt together in one bowl. In the other bowl, you are going to need to mix two teaspoons of coconut oil (make sure it has been melted first) with a half teaspoon of vanilla extract, a quarter cup of maple syrup and an egg.
After thoroughly mixing the two bowls, combine the contents of both. Sprinkle in some chocolate chips and mix everything together. Put the batter in the refrigerator for about half an hour.
Cooking
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. The best time to do this is to do this is immediately after you’ve finished making your batter.
Start putting your cookies on a flat cookie sheet and put them in the oven until they are golden brown. This generally takes about 5 minutes, but you will have to check up on them periodically to be sure.
Enjoy!
Give your cookies some time to cool down and then start munching! They taste just as good as my grandmother’s chocolate chip cookies and that’s really saying something. Not bad for a primal diet.
