Blueberry Donut Recipes
Blueberry Donut Recipes
Hey primal lovers! I just found a couple of great recipes for blueberry donut recipes. These delicious confectioneries are particularly low calorie in comparison to almost all of their nonpaleo counterparts (which usually have at least 300 calories apiece). Here is a picture of what they look like (this is actually a picture of a vegan blueberry donut by the way, but the paleo ones look pretty similar).
One of these great recipes was recently shared on PaleoOMG. Obviously, blueberries are the primary component for this particular recipe. I intend to share a number of other recipes for great paleo donuts in the future. There are some recipes for a number of other great recipes, including: apple cider and chocolate coconut.
The recipe is actually very straightforward. You will need about 10 minutes to finish your prep work and about 25 minutes to cook.
The founder of PaleoOMG said that she gave up eating donuts in adolescence when she started to notice how many pounds they added. Many people would love to go back to eat them every breakfast. I don’t know about you, but I am glad to have options that don’t involve completely giving up on one of my favorite sweets.
You can find the whole recipe list on PaleoOMG. Here are some of the things you are going to need to get started:
- Medjool nuts
- Blueberries (can’t make blueberry donuts without them I’m afraid)
- Salt
- Coconut milk
- Coconut oil
- Some eggs (I’d have at least half a dozen)
- Lemon
- Honey
- Baking powder
- Both lemons and lemon juice
I have found a couple of different recipes, but they all use more or less the same ingredients and follow similar steps. The difference with the recipe that PaleoOMG shared is that it also has a recipe for blueberry jam as well. I haven’t added blueberry jam to any of these donuts before, but it sounds pretty darn good. I guess I will have try that next.
These donuts are pretty superb if I do say so myself. Have any of you tried cooking paleo blueberry donuts before? Feel free to share your experiences with them in the comments below! Also, let me know if you have any other donut recipes for other modern cavemen. I am looking to share all donut recipes I can find in the coming months.
